About the Role:
SSP Group are looking for a Cyber Security Consultant within the Digital & Technology function to drive the provision of cyber security services across strategic project initiatives.
The role is also expected to work closely with the operations and infrastructure teams to define, develop and manage alignment to strategic direction, including risk identification and management.
_ Please note this is an FTC for 12 Months from start date._
Accountability and Tasks
- Provide expert security advice, consultancy, and guidance across SSP Group and UK, including global regions
- Work with project teams to ensure secure practices and principles are adopted and maintained throughout the project lifecycle
- Identify and manage security risks, including proposal of remediation solutions
- Support maintenance and development of policies, standards, and processes
- May be required to support BAU activities and management of core security technologies, including incident response activities
- Participate in key forums as a representative of cyber security
- Maintain high levels of technical expertise and awareness of latest developments across the industry
- Research threats and vulnerabilities, and make recommendations in order to reduce risk
- Liaise with key external suppliers to ensure adherence to best practices
Skills/Knowledge Required
Essential:
- Previous experience working as a security consultant on key projects and initiatives
- Broad knowledge of information security architectures, technologies, frameworks, and standards including NCSC, NIST & ISO27001/
- Demonstrable knowledge of cloud technologies and platforms
- Excellent knowledge of the current cyber security landscape including cloud principles
- Flexibility and ability to work on own initiative
- Proactive and willing to learn
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- CISSP/CISM/CCSP or equivalent certification
Desirable:
- Experience of working with security infrastructure and technologies including cloud solutions
- Experience of working in cyber security engineering and/or operations
