- A qualified mechanical engineer with a minimum of a Batchelors degree or an HNC in a Mechanical, Electromechanical, Robotics, Automation or Food Processing discipline, or 5+ years experience in a relevant role.
- You will have a current and proven track record as a Mechanical Design Engineer having designed capital equipment or special purpose machinery.
- You will have experience of incorporating gearboxes, motors, pneumatic cylinders & bearings into machinery.
- You will have used Solidworks 3D software or a similar design package to develop detailed drawings for manufacture
- You will be naturally inquisitive and a collaborative team player.
- You will have a hands on approach.
- You will ensure accuracy in your own work as most projects are of a bespoke nature.
- You will be comfortable working autonomously and managing your time effectively within a small UK design department with additional support from a larger US team.
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical people via reports, emails and verbal communication.
- Food processing equipment design.
- Electro-Mechanical systems design.
- Experience creating 2D equipment layout drawings.
- Knowledge of factories and how production lines work.
- Previous experience with an equipment manufacturer - food industry experience is highly desirable.
