    Description

    Estimator – Demolition

    Bristol, England

    £45,000 - £55,000

    Responsibilities:
    As an Estimator you will play a crucial role in our project bidding process, ensuring accuracy, competitiveness, and compliance with client requirements. Your responsibilities will include:

    • Compiling bids for projects within the mechanical project range of £1 – 6 million.
    • Understanding specification documents and producing full take-offs from mechanical and electrical drawings.
    • Calculating costs for materials, transport, labour, equipment hire, permits, and other project-related expenses.
    • Obtaining quotes from sub-contractors and suppliers for all predicted requirements, including Electrical and Builders work elements.
    • Collating detailed price lists of everything required on each tender/project.
    • Clarifying client needs and expectations.
    • Preparing detailed and accurate cost estimates, breakdowns, and proposals.
    • Assessing and adhering to all risk assessments and health and safety requirements.
    • Analyzing potential risks and opportunities associated with the project and incorporating them into the estimate.
    • Maintaining accurate records and documentation related to estimates and project costs.
    • Making visits to site to familiarize with the works and understand the scope of works and site-specific requirements.
    • Staying up to date on industry standards and regulations.
    • Presenting bids to clients and answering their questions.
    • Assisting bid writers with specific site information to support quality submissions.
    • Preparing and submitting quotations for smaller works up to £1 million for contractor's design-style projects with limited information available.
    • Demonstrating a desire to progress into renewable technologies.
    • Tendering for multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Producing program of works and site logistic plans at tender stage to demonstrate understanding of client requirements and present delivery methods.

    Requirements:
    To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:

    · Strong mathematical and financial skills.

    · Highly proficient in numeracy

    · Good negotiation skills

    · Experience with estimating software

    · An effective communicator

    · Ability to undertake project management

    · Detail orientated

    · Ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines

    · Ability to work alone and as a part of a team

    · Excellent at problem-solving

    · Analytically minded, including having the ability to undertake financial analysis

    · A team player

    · Experience/ability to deliver presentations

    · Organised and methodical

    · Proficient at using Microsoft Projects as well as industry specific software

    · Experience in maintaining effective records
