    Description

    Job Description:

    We are a diverse team with expertise in software, FPGA and board design, delivering platforms both internally and externally to support Arm's IP business. This position is located in Cambridge, UK, at the forefront of Arm-based embedded design.

    The Hardware Platforms team develops hardware platforms based on Arm's CPU and system IP products. These platforms are crucial for software development and IP validation activities within Arm and among partners/customers.

    As a member of this team, your daily tasks will involve driving verification of SoC RTL designs adapted for FPGA implementation, creating and maintaining SoC verification testbenches, writing C test cases, developing test plans, and automating tasks using scripting languages like python and shell scripts.

    Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with design and verification teams across different fields in ARM to define testing scenarios and develop necessary tests.
    • Contribute ideas to enhance the scope and effectiveness of our testing.
    • Provide mentorship to junior engineers.

    Required Skills and Experience :

    • Solid grasp of hardware description and verification languages like SystemVerilog, Verilog, VHDL.
    • In-depth knowledge and experience in verification strategies for complex SoC development, including software-based techniques.
    • Proficiency in creating and managing test plans.
    • Experience in bare-metal/low-level programming using languages such as C and Assembler.
    • Familiarity with EDA simulation tools for testing and debugging like VCS, Questasim, Cadence.
    • Effective written and verbal communication abilities.

    'Nice To Have' Skills and Experience :

    • Background in ARM-based designs and ARM System Architectures.
    • Familiarity with Unix development environments.
    • Knowledge of Perl, Python, or other scripting languages.
    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
    • Experience with ARM debugger and trace features such as ARM DS, DSTREAM.
    • Experience with SystemVerilog and verification methodologies like UVM/OVM/e.
