- To be responsible for the delivery of the Speech and Language Therapy service provided by Community Neuro Rehabilitation Team, providing assessment, implementing specialist SLT treatment and programmes of care, writing reports, reflecting specialist knowledge.
- To provide specialist assessment, diagnosis and intervention for clients with complex acquired speech, language and swallowing difficulties, who require a domiciliary service. These adults will present with a wide range of cognitive, sensory, physical, behavioural, social, and communication difficulties.
- To conduct interpretive, functional and instrumental assessment using specialist clinical/technical skills, demonstrating highly developed auditory, perceptual and physical skills in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of clients. Furthermore, to use investigative skills and specialist knowledge of standardised assessments and other assessment tools, together with advanced analytical clinical reasoning skills in order to form a baseline measure or differential diagnosis from which to plan intervention.
- To use a holistic, client centred approach, gathering and synthesising information from other professionals and relatives/carers, in order to ensure that intervention packages are best suited to patient, relatives and place of delivery.
