    Job summary

    Duties will include covering the Urology Reception, entering information and booking appointments onto the hospital patient data computer system (Cerner Millennium), making/taking telephone calls, ensuring outcome forms are correctly completed and escalating appropriately, typing and any other admin duties as required.

    Competent computer skills are essential and a positive, flexible approach to the workload is necessary. Typing skills are essential. This is a busy role which will involve multi-tasking with ever-changing priorities.

    Main duties of the job

    Receive patients and relatives at Reception in a friendly and courteous all telephone enquiries in a helpful manner with an understanding of patient confidentiality, taking and relaying messages competently and taking action as appropriate. To maintain patient details/appointments efficiently on the patient administration system (Millennium). To book new & follow up cancel and re-book patients as needed To support the Administration and Secretarial Teams with booking appointments and checking in and out appointments as required, typing clinic and admin letters and ensuring actions have been made. To monitor and action the Department's generic email inbox and referral inbo To book Interpreters as and when liaise with Nurses, Doctors, GP's and other members of the Department to provide a quality service for the ensure that patient confidentiality is observed and adhered to at all times whether in person or by telephone. Be aware of and adhere to national waiting time targets when scheduling patient appointments. To carry out other clerical duties as required; this will include scanning and attaching documents to patient's electronic records, updating spreadsheets, covering other areas in the Department. To provide fast and accurate copy and audio typing service to the Department. To be flexible to the needs of the Department to ensure cover and smooth-running of the department as a whole.
