    Description

    We have an exciting opportunity for you at RSK to join our Safety, Health, Environment and Quality Department. We are looking to recruit a full time (40 hrs pw) Senior SHEQ Advisor based in Bristol who has knowledge and experience of waste collection and sortation work. This includes working with large plant and equipment, skip carrying vehicles, LoLER and PuWER regulations and WISH best practice.

    You will be part of our Technical Services SHEQ Team reporting to the SHEQ Lead giving health and safety advice, guidance and assistance, as well as practical support in making sure our projects meet the necessary environmental criteria, and leave a positive legacy on the communities we work in.

    Responsibilities:

    • Providing expert support to our business units in the waste collection and sortation sector.
    • Assisting the SHEQ department in providing SHEQ compliance, advice, guidance with applicable legislation and industry best practice
    • Preparation and review of risk assessments, method statements and procedures
    • Monitoring, delivery of internal audits, on-site inspections, and reporting on SHEQ performance for business operations, office, and field-based activities.
    • Lead on the investigation of incidents, analyse data and present findings to the management team.
    • Vendor review, audit, and inspections
    • Preparation of reports in relation to performance against objectives, targets, and SHEQ performance, as well as supporting on associated communications.

    Person specification:

    • Proven previous experience in a health and safety position in the waste sector.
    • A NEBOSH General Certificate, ideally Tech IOSH status, and experience with ISO standards
    • Membership of the CIWM would be advantageous.
    • Good technical knowledge of health and safety, and environmental legislation
    • Experience of delivering training
    • ISO internal auditor qualification an advantage but not essential.
    • Travel (UK, and occasionally internationally) for up to 50% of workload.

    Salary & benefits:

    • £40,000 - £50,000 depending on experience and qualifications
