Trainee Electrical Engineer

Due to continued growth our client based in Chesterfield is looking to expand their Electrical Engineers. You will be joining them on a journey to becoming a fully qualified Engineer specific to their field.


Typical details of the role include:

  • Training to carry out servicing and maintenance of systems at customer premises
  • Undertaking the commissioning of systems under supervision and compiling reports
  • Providing emergency support, testing and faultfinding systems both on site and in the company's workshop and test bays
  • Clearly understand and follow guidelines on safe working practices on site with relevance to high voltage equipment
  • Visiting site to perform site surveys for the installation and projects team to enable correct project estimation
  • Commitment to completing jobs within prescribed timescales to achieve a firsttime fix

What type of person are we looking for?

  • Ideally have an interest in electronics
  • Be qualification or be willing to attend college to gain a qualification in this field
  • Be able to demonstrate competent use and understanding of hand tools
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills be comfortable dealing with clients, engineers and subcontractors
  • Customer focused with good interpersonal skills both written and oral
  • Have good time management skills, able to prioritise tasks and work efficiently
  • Have good IT skills, being comfortable with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & Outlook)


This is a field-based role therefore you need to hold a full UK driving licence and be willing to travel.


Salary:18,500 -£25,000 depending on experience
