Who we are looking for:

We're looking for a Purchase Ledger Supervisor to join our European Transactional Team based out of Manchester, UK. The role has direct responsibility for a team of 6 people and reports to the Treasury Manager.

The Purchase Ledger Supervisor will play a key part of the European Transactional Team, overseeing the Accounts Payable side of the Business.


Responsibilities

  • Day to Day Supervision of the Purchase Ledger Team, Supervise a team of 6 Purchase Ledger Clerks. Ensuring daily tasks are completed, ensuring the team have the right level of knowledge to post all transactions to the correct place. Carry out all performance reviews, absence management and holiday approvals.
  • Managing the Weekly Payment Allocations, ensuring key suppliers and partners are paid in a timely manner within any cash allocations given. Ensuring all relevant pieces of information/ actions communicated to the business as
  • Supplier Relationships, Building and Maintaining relationships with key suppliers, working with head of purchasing where necessary.
  • Query Resolution, Assisting the team where necessary to resolve any supplier queries, maintaining and reviewing the query log on a weekly basis with 1:1 carried out with the Team, escalating when and where appropriate.
  • Process Improvements, identifying any improvements that need to be made and liaising with the Treasury Manager to move these forwards.
  • Bacs Run & Payment Approvals, Checks and 1st approvals of weekly payment runs and same day payments to Suppliers.
  • Journal Approvals, review & approval of journals raised by the team for corrections and write offs.
  • Logistic Invoice Processing and Spreadsheet Analysis
    , assisting the Team in ensuring Carrier invoices are processed weekly and the back up data received is correct so costs are charged appropriately, striving to make improvements and automate this process where possible.
  • Supplier Statement Reconciliations, reconciling of larger Supplier Accounts, ensuring key accounts regularly reviewed and that any audit requirements relating to supplier reconciliations are met.
  • Monthly completion of the Creditor Reconciliations.
  • Other Adhoc Duties, other adhoc items as and when required to assist the wider finance team and ensure Monthly Deadlines are achieved.

What you'll need:


  • You will need to have at least 3 Years previous Purchase Ledger Experience working with Blue Chip Clients within a Global Environment. Part or fully AAT qualified is beneficial but not essential.
  • Ability to effectively process and manage a high volume of transactional and processing work.
  • Staff Management or Staff Mentoring experience is essential.
  • You will be determined to go the extra mile to achieve results, championing the culture of progression within Brand Addition
  • Experience of working within a large finance team is advantageous.
  • Teamwork is essential in this role, as you will need to work closely with the wider Transactional and Finance Team to hit required deadlines. You must be team orientated and be able to always maintain positive & supportive relationships with your colleagues.
  • The position requires someone who is computer literate and has at least intermediate Excel skills with the confidence to utilise and improve these.
