Locality:
Alconbury
/Sawtry, Cambridgeshire


Hours:40 hours (basic) per week, Monday to Friday with 30-minute break for lunch)


Salary:
Subject to experience (plus overtime)

The Company:

Advanced Composites & Engineering Technology Ltd (ACE) based in Sawtry & Alconbury.

ACE specialises in the manufacture of precision carbon fibre reinforced components/assemblies & tooling, primarily for motorsport, automotive, aerospace and communications sectors.


Due to planned upcoming development, ACE is looking for Composite Laminators who will be responsible for constructing complex composite parts from resin-impregnated carbon fibre, glass fibre and aramid fabric.


About the role:


We are in search of Laminators to join our composite laminating team to produce carbon fibre components, including highly visual parts, using pre-preg material, vacuum bagged and autoclave cured.

Applicants are expected to be knowledgeable and skilled in this method of manufacture.

The role is to support the Team Leader in the proficient running of the department by achieving job timelines and demands while sustaining the highest of standards.


Responsibilities:


  • Work with composite materials whilst following recognised safety practices
  • Laminate composite components to layup and drawing specification
  • Process components for autoclave cure by way of vacuum bagging practices
  • Process patterns and moulds/tooling using chemical sealers and release agents
  • Assemble mould tools
  • Work to instruction manuals and quality control procedures, ensuring the workplace is kept clean and tidy.
  • Recognise and resolve quality concerns as they emerge in consultation with Team Leaders/Supervisors

Basic Requirements:


  • Aptitude to comprehend instruction from detailed engineering drawings & information with the ability to work to tight deadlines and remain calm under pressure
  • Ability to work with mínimal supervision with good verbal communication and listening skills
  • Good eye for detail, pride in own workmanship and comfortable working with common hand and power/pneumatic tools.
  • Full UK Driving Licence and eligible to work in the UK
