    Description
    Yarnley House Care Home is looking to appoint a Housekeeper / Laundry Assistant.

    Our brand-new, luxury service is set in the small village of Crow, which is very close to Ringwood. We provide quality Residential, Dementia, Nursing and Respite care for 72-residents.


    As Housekeeper / Laundry Assistant, you will work as part of a team to maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene within the care home, always ensuring a safe and comfortable environment.

    Housekeeper / Laundry Assistant Contract

    11.50 per hour.

    Contracted to 40-hours per week.

    5.6 weeks annual leave (Full-time)

    Pension.

    Onsite parking.

    Uniform provided.

    DBS.

    Responsibilities

    Empty waste bins.

    Vacuum throughout.

    Shake out cushions.

    Clean dining rooms/lounges/toilets.

    Clean taps and sinks.

    Clean soap dispenser outlets.

    Clean toothbrush holders.

    Spot clean all floorings.

    Wash all bathroom/toilet/en-suite floors.

    Polish all mirrors.

    Clean all pipe work in toilets.

    Dust handrails and radiators.

    Move all mobile furniture (including beds and chairs) and vacuum and dust beneath/behind.

    Wash out metal wastepaper bins.

    Dust and polish furniture and windowsills.

    Wash lino floors.

    Shampoo carpets as requested by Home Manager.

    Dust light bulbs, curtains, pictures, and fittings.

    Restock toiletries, soaps, towels when required.

    Ensure laundry services are effective, working in line with guidance and expectations

    Ensure laundry and personal possessions of residents is safe and returned to them, label as directed

    Ensure Health and Safety, infection prevention and control and fire safety within the laundry and wider care environment

    Ensure safe operating systems are in place in the laundry and follow these

    Work with other staff to ensure the laundry service is effective.

    Provide high quality laundry service for all linen and residents personal clothing

    Ensure the laundry is cleaned to a high standard in compliance with specific guidelines and schedules

    Respect and always maintain confidentiality of residents personal information

    Understand and comply with all statutory and legal requirements, ie. Health & Safety, COSHH

    To check that all residents personal clothing and items are individually labelled, maintained in good repair, and returned to the correct resident

    All equipment used is in full, safe working order

    Always be alert and use your own initiative, spot clean any spillages as they occur

    Be an active and helpful member of the team, contribute to staff meetings, attend training sessions, and ensure the care home is a friendly and supportive working environment.
