    My client is a leading turnkey provider of charging for battery electric trucks for commercial fleet owners aiming to transition to electric vehicles.


    Role Overview:

    We are seeking a skilled Senior Project Manager to oversee the deployment of High Goods Vehicle (HGV) truck charging infrastructure across the UK.

    The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for managing external contractors to ensure the timely and successful installation of charging facilities, aligning with our commitment to facilitating the adoption of electric fleets in the commercial sector.

    This role requires a self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit, capable of driving projects forward with initiative and resourcefulness.


    Project Planning and Execution:
    Develop detailed project plans outlining milestones, tasks, timelines, and resource requirements for HGV charging deployment projects.
    Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external contractors to ensure alignment with project objectives and deadlines.
    Monitor project progress, identify potential risks or delays, and implement mitigation strategies to keep projects on track.


    Contractor Management:
    Identify and engage external contractors with expertise in HGV charging infrastructure installation.
    Define project scopes, deliverables, and performance metrics in contracts, ensuring clarity and accountability.
    Provide guidance and oversight to contractors throughout the project lifecycle, fostering collaboration and driving results.

    Serve as the primary point of contact for communication between the company and external contractors, as well as port authorities and other relevant stakeholders.

    Facilitate regular meetings and status updates to keep all parties informed of project progress, challenges, and resolutions.

    Quality Assurance and Compliance:
    Establish quality standards and ensure adherence to industry regulations and best practices in HGV charging infrastructure deployment.
    Conduct regular inspections and quality checks to verify the functionality and safety of installed charging equipment.
    Collaborate with regulatory bodies and certification agencies to obtain necessary permits and approvals for project activities.

    Budget and Resource Management:
    Develop project budgets, track expenditures, and manage costs to ensure projects are completed within approved financial constraints.
    Optimise resource allocation and utilisation, including labour, materials, and equipment, to maximise efficiency and minimise waste.
    Identify opportunities for cost savings or process improvements to enhance project profitability and competitiveness.

    Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business Administration, or related field.

    Proven experience (5+ years) in project management, preferably in the deployment of infrastructure projects or within the EV Charging industry.

    Demonstrated ability to manage external contractors and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams to achieve project goals.
    Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail and a proactive approach to risk management.
    Familiarity with HGV charging technology, electrical systems, and relevant regulations/standards is advantageous.
    Project management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is a plus.
