We are looking for an experienced and driven AHP with passion and enthusiasm to join our Centre of NMAHP Research and Education Excellence (CeNREE) to enable focus on continued excellence in research and professional development for our teams as the Chief AHP.

This is a unique opportunity for a talented individual to join an amazing team.

You will need to have the necessary energy and credibility to lead the professional AHP agenda in an exciting and innovative major teaching Trust.

The Chief AHP will provide AHP leadership on behalf of the Trust to develop new care models aligned to the Integrated Care System.

Within this context, they will lead on developing the AHP workforce, harnessing their value and identifying opportunities to modernise service delivery across patient pathways.

If you are up for the challenge you will be pivotal in providing expert advice to a wide range of staff, implementing policy and measuring outcomes to assure the quality and safety of the Trust's AHP services.

This is a key senior leadership role at UHNM.

The Chief AHP will provide credible and visible leadership both within our organisation and through professional networks at a local, regional and national level.

They will be responsible for developing and implementing a strategic plan for AHPs that supports the delivery of the Trust Strategic Objectives, the Quality Strategy, the Research Strategy and the annual operational plan.


The Chief AHP will work in partnership with HEIs to develop opportunities for growing clinical academic careers, contributing to joint strategic planning and the development of innovative practice that supports the delivery of evidence based care.


As a key member of the CeNREE team, you will have responsibility for driving the AHP clinical excellence national agenda forward.

This will include working with the Quality Improvement team to support the roll out of our Continuous Quality Improvement Journey, 'Delivering Exceptional Care'.


You will have a key role in contributing to a culture that demonstrates our values and behaviours through your leadership style.

You should have a track record in leading teams and delivering change in an engaging and thoughtful way.

You will have opportunities to deputise for the Assistant Director of NMAHP Research and you will be supported to develop and fulfil your potential.


University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust has an annual income of c£750m and over 11,000 dedicated staff operating across our two busy acute sites at Royal Stoke University Hospital and the County Hospital at Stafford.

We provide a wide range of acute and specialist healthcare services to our local populations in Staffordshire, South Cheshire and Shropshire and we are also a Major Trauma Centre to a wider population of 3 million people stretching from Anglesey to the Peak District.
