    Job Title : Local Land and Property Gazetteer / Street Naming and Numbering officer

    The London Borough of Richmond upon Thames and London Borough of Wandsworth present a unique opportunity to be part of a team who are working together within a successful shared staffing structure across both boroughs.

    About the Us

    You will be part of the Address Management Application Support Team you will serve both Wandsworth and Richmond Councils in a Shared Service Agreement. You will carry out the day-to-day administration of all Wandsworth and Richmond Gazetteer and SNN processes/applications in accordance with all statutory requirements, including the collection of information on-site and consultation with statutory bodies and other interested parties like the Royal Mail, VOA, developers, emergency services, etc. For the Gazetteer tasks you will be in regular contact with all Gazetteer address users and make sure that the Gazetteer data base is fully up-to-date and comprehensive.

    About the role

    Some of the main responsibilities of the Gazetteer/SNN Officer include:

  • Ensure local/national conventions and BS standards are fully adhered to in the LLPG maintenance process.
  • You be expected to produce a high-quality address database that plays an important part in geo-referencing and linking data sets
  • Ensure that the statutory service of naming all new roads and numbering/naming new properties is carried out in accordance with Richmond and Wandsworth councils' procedures/policies for Street Naming and Numbering and meets both council's statutory regulations.
  • Process and make decisions following appropriate consultations/notifications on applications for new addresses and address amendments in accordance with Richmond and Wandsworth councils' policies/procedures for Street Naming and Numbering, including the handling and recording of associated income as well as notifying all relevant external bodies of address changes.
  • Resolve address anomalies which have been highlighted between different address datasets in use within the SSA and by third parties and notify all relevant bodies of the official addresses.
  • Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • You will have good IT skills, be aware of the latest technologies and maintain the Councils' high-quality standard of addressing.
  • You need to be self-motivated, a self-starter and have a willingness to learn new technologies. It's essential that you are a team-player and have an attention to detail but also solution-driven and a willingness to be pragmatic. A knowledge of GIS is important as it benefits all the Gazetteer and SNN tasks.
  • Having experience with spatial data is required as this is a fundamental component of the post.
