An exciting opportunity has arisen within the newly developed BCG vaccination service within Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced and committed individual with an interest in childhood vaccinations

Do you have the skills and experience to provide a high level of support and education to women and their families?

The post holder would support the BCG vaccination team in delivering BCG vaccinations to newborns and children from the local area

The main duty of this role would be to support vaccination team in the administration of BCG vaccination to children.

About the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust: )

  • Provide clinical and nonclinical support to the Multiprofessional team under the direction of an appropriate Registered Health Care Professional.
  • Deliver direct and indirect care under the direction of an appropriate Registered Health Care Professional.
  • Deliver effective healthcare to patients/ service users.
  • Undertake unsupervised aspects of care and therapeutic intervention as delegated by the Registered Health Care Professional within an agreed protocol, sphere of responsibility and after completing appropriate competency based training agreed by the Trust.
  • Implement maternity care programmes within the immunisation service
  • Communicate appropriate information to women and their families
  • The role involves supporting the women and their families and also the midwives and implementing maternity and fetal care programmes within the maternity services under the direction of registered professionals.
  • There is some clerical work and filing and the ability to use a computer is essential.
