    The post holder will be required to work in collaboration with the Service Manager to manage the Countywide Community Eating Disorders Service, to ensure the highest standards of practice and service delivery. The role will involve providing day to day management, leadership and supervision to a multidisciplinary community eating disorders service team.

    The role will involve managing the team's KPI targets, supporting team members to provide excellent treatment for our service users, working with the leadership team to ensure the service is continually under review and is reflective and develops appropriately and ensuring the smooth daily running of the service.

    The post holder will be required to carry a very small caseload. Their main function is to support the team manager.

    The Team Leader will contribute at a local level to the development and implementation of policies and procedures.

    The Team Leader may deputise for the Service Manager in her/his absence, as agreed with the Service Line Lead.

    The Team Leader will ensure, in collaboration with other professional colleagues, that professional practice meets standards as set by HPFT and/or professional statutes and bodies.

    Main duties of the job Together with the Professional Lead, plan, prioritise and manage the delivery of a community eating disorders service which provides health and social care assessment, care management and treatment to service users within Hertfordshire, including overseeing referrals and ensuring that there is an even and appropriate distribution of work across the team, based on the experience of team members.

    For CEDS, oversee referrals and the allocation of service users to workers, ensuring that caseloads are monitored and managed and care packages are maintained under the auspices of CPA when appropriate.

    Ensure that risks relating to service users, unmet needs and to the work environment are assessed and managed appropriately, ensuring that all team members know and understand their role in risk management.

    Provide operational supervision and, in conjunction with the Lead Psychological Therapist, ensure the provision of clinical caseload supervision to all team members in CEDS. Where necessary make arrangements for appropriate professional supervision to be available to all team members.

    Implement and monitor relevant operational policies and protocols, team systems and processes for the effective operation of the teams.

    Ensure quality care standards and procedures which support the aims of Hertfordshire Partnership NHS Trust, the most recent evidence-based practice for delivery of eating disorders interventions and the ethos of the Recovery Approach.

    Monitor the CEDS service caseload ensuring that the teams activities are targeted to clients/patients, fulfilling the agreed criteria.

    Maintain the requirements of CPA, ensuring that the CEDS team members are able to assume Care Co-ordination responsibility.

    In conjunction with other leadership staff, to ensure the continued professional development of all team members through annual individual performance reviews.

    Maintain the Team Leaders own professional registration and Development

    In collaboration with the Professional Lead, undertake the timely recruitment selection, appointment and induction of team members.

    With the Professional Lead, manage the delegated team budgets with respect to operational and service delivery costs.

    Effectively manage all aspects of the teams time i.e. Annual Leave, Study Leave and other absence via the E Roster system.

    Monitor and manage, in conjunction with the Professional Lead, all staff sickness and absences.

    Act for or on behalf of the Professional Lead as required from time to time in accordance with local agreements

    Manage the duty desk on a rota basis with other member of the service. Person Specification QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/TRAINING Essential
    • Professional qualification: RMN/DipSW/CQSW/UCKP
    • Evidence of current registration with NMC or GSCC or another professional body
    PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE Essential
    • Post qualifying experience of working with people with mental health problems in the community.
    • Experience of leadership within a mental health service
