    This exciting new appointment will work closely with the Chief Creative Officer in planning, designing, and executing the establishment of a large space to create a modern, innovative Makerspace. The Manager will fully manage the day-to-day operations of the space, supporting interdisciplinary teamwork and using market-leading rapid prototyping and digital production equipment.

    Responsibilities

    • Managing and supervising the Makerspace, and support various projects as needed
    • Makerspace operations, including material procurement, scheduling, access, and safety training
    • Makerspace health and safety - developing and implementing safety training protocols and monitoring enforcement of safety policies and guidelines in accordance with relevant governing bodies, such as COSHH and CLEAPS
    • Initiating annual planned maintenance on all machines, tools, and equipment with outside maintenance contractors to ensure that all risk assessments are up-to-date
    Qualifications
    • Bachelor degree or relevant technical qualifications
    • Experience managing, maintaining and training in a Makerspace type of environment.
    • Enjoy working in an educational establishment
    • Strong organisational and communication skills
    • Thrive in a fast-paced, continuously evolving environment; be energetic, creative and tenacious, with an enthusiasm for innovation
    • Combined technical and educational experience and passion for new and emerging technology
