New wage agreements in Queensland make working in Emergency Medicine very desirable indeed. In Queensland, Emergency Medical Practitioners get an additional 25% allowance (applied on base salary).

Total first year remuneration package is up to (depending on years of specialist experience - 9 years) $630k + oncall, call back allowances etc.

~ Emergency Medicine specialty allowance - 25% of base salary.
~1st year $20,000 incentive allowance.
~ 75% employer pension contributions (superannuation).
~6weeks CME leave allowance.
~ Annual $21,500 CME allowance.
~ Annual Vehicle allowance up to $25,000.
