    Description

    Role: Data Analyst

    Job Type: Contract

    Duration: 6 Months

    Work Location: LONDON OR SHEFFIELD travelling is required

    Frequency: 2 to 3 days in a week

    This role is mainly responsible for:

    Leading the technical and functional analysis capability on the data & analytics programme across ideation, design & development, deployment in an agile working model; with the gravitas / ability to influence a wide range of partners / stakeholders from technology and senior procurement management

    Work with business, data and IT stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into clear functional requirements and technical delivery plans

    • Define data requirements and gathers and validates information, using judgment and statistical tests. Oversee test and implementation of data products to production

    Developing data structures and pipelines to organize, collect, cleanse, and standardize data to generate actionable insights and address reporting needs. Using data mining techniques to extract information from data sets and identify correlations and patterns

    Lead the data modelling, data mapping and data solution testing activity on projects within the role's remit

    Identify synergies across data requests from business stakeholders and deliver the data pipelines as well as visualisations

    Identify opportunities to maximise data usage, applying modelling and optimization methods to enhance data assets and reporting products

    Review business processes and conceptualise the entities that interoperate within the business process, developing entity relationship diagrams to represent these connections.

    • Work with multiple teams to define conceptual data models and document existing data flows of critical business processes.
    • Create and maintain technical data dictionaries of systems supporting the business processes.
    • Work with Central Data Stewards to identify and agree data quality rules and integrate into the enterprise data catalogue, as well as implement process, training and system changes.
    • Identify the root cause of process adjustments throughout the organization
    • Create high-quality documentation, detailing data lineage, transformation rules, data sources and business processes used in delivering analysis.

    Qualifications / Experience

    • A university degree in Computer Science, Data Analysis or similar education and work experience

    Minimum of 10 years' experience delivering data products using Agile with clearly demonstrable business outcomes

    • Exceptional analytical skills with a strong understanding of the power and value of data with an ability to apply technology solutions to meet business needs and solve problems
    • Ability to assess stakeholder needs to improve customer experience, show resilience under pressure and provide best in class solutions
    • Delivery-focused, with ability to meet agreed deadlines and delivery high quality output

    Technical Expectations

    • Demonstrable experience of working in a data integration-related role, ETL processes and data warehousing principles
    • A strong understanding and experience in key data modelling methodologies, techniques and concepts (dimensional modelling, entity relationship modelling, logical & physical models)
    • Experience with at least one of the reporting tool – QlikSense/Tableau/Power BI

    Proficient in SQL, ETL framework, Alteryx or similar technology, Python, GCP (Big Query), QlikSense preferred.

    Familiarity with Data Science concepts and subjects and an interest in up-skilling in the future
