The Operations Data Office has been set up to provide a broad set of Data Governance, Data Management and Assurance services for the AstraZeneca Operations organization.

The scope of the team covers core Operations data domains such as Finished Product Master, Direct Materials Master, Bill of Material, Recipes, Resources, Batch, Process Orders and Equipment.

We also work in partnership with Enterprise & cross-functional Data Offices on shared data domains such as Location, Quality, Clinical Supply, Finance, Supplier & Customer Master Data.

We have an ambitious plan to transform the data management service provision for our current scope, enabling process excellence & timely decision-making driving business value.

To achieve this, we are looking for a
Global Data Management Lead who is responsible for building and leading a large global team to provide data management activities for all Operations Plants for all data domains covered by the Operations Data Office.

The role will lead a large diverse team of data management specialists, business process architects & data BAs based in multiple global locations.

To be successful, this role will require a passion for people development and talent management to build a highly engaged, motivated team where individuals can grow and achieve career ambitions.

This position will drive the efficient and accurate creation and maintenance of diverse data sets across the Operations SAP landscape, and several other systems.

Establish and develop a strong control environment that meets AZ principles, policies & standards and achieve compliance with AstraZeneca's SoX, Privacy, and regulatory requirements.

Lead an ambitious change agenda that drives simplification, consistency, and alignment across the data management lifecycle.

Work closely with colleagues from across the Data Office, including Data Governance Stewards & Data Quality Assurance Analysts, to drive standardization across the organization in-line with AZ principles, policies, and standards.

Partner with business & IT change projects to ensure the data strategy is clear, change impact is understood, resources planned and any transition to business as usual is successful achieved.

As a key member of the leadership team, this role will contribute the future direction of the department, identify opportunities to grow our service provision, build talent and capability across the Data Office & lead team engagement activities to support making AZ a Great Place To Work.

What you'll do:

Build & lead the One Data Management Services team for Operations.
Establish the vision and strategic direction for Data Management, aligned with overall Operations goals.
Establish a strong delivery framework including globally standardized operating procedures to support effective data management processes that deliver accurate, trusted master data in source systems consistently, regardless of Plant or ECC system. This will enable the organization to achieve process delivery excellence & high levels of data quality.
Provide business process and information architecture services, including management of conceptual & logical information flow maps & data models.
Define the operating model for Data Foundational technologies, such as MDG, cataloguing, DQ tooling and Master Data Management & Reference Data Management including building SME capability, partnering with IT on tech roadmap & rollout across Operations.
Provide demand management support to balance BAU run activity, contribution to projects, data cleansing efforts, Continuous Improvement initiatives and project demands.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in business administration, Information/Data Science, Informatics, computer science, economics or related field
Minimum 8 years with Data Management (Master Data, Reference Data, Transaction Data), Data Governance, and Data tooling and demonstrated knowledge of Business process architecture, Information architecture, data management, standards, and policies
Minimum 10 years of handson experience of Business/ partnering for the implementation of Data Governancerelated solutions.
Minimum 8 years leading diverse global team, within and across functions.
Minimum 5 years architecting and building data platform and managing data management initiatives delivering to strict deadlines.
Minimum 5 years demonstrating business acumen in pharma industry and demonstrating excellent leadership skills.
Experience of working in a global organization with complex/geographical context
Experience in a Shared Service Centre
