Techniche are supporting a leading automotive manufacturer to appoint a Body Design Principal Engineer for their site in Cranfield.

Location:
Cranfield, Bedfordshire

Hours:
Mon-Thurs 8am-5pm, Fri 8am-1.20pm

Type:
Hybrid working typically 3 days/week on site

Rate:
£28.61/hr and £4.29/hr holiday accrual and £0.86 pension accrual (Salary equivalent £58,021)

Techniche Agency Umbrella
Rate:
£38.11/hr

Duration: 12 month+ Contract with prospects for further extension.

Responsibilities:

Body part design and development for all vehicle projects, covering new model and current mass production.
Metal press part, plastic/fabric trim part, mechanical part will be a scope of design study.

- (BIW structures, under covers, NVH insulators, heat insulators, door mechanics, etc)

To study design shape based on basic material/structure engineering and customer's requirement.
To have a discussion with related departments (Other part design, manufacturing team, purchasing, project management, CAD team, suppliers, etc) and to find technical solution.
Prepare drawing, have a review with line managers.

Skills Required:

Mechanical Engineering Degree or similar with equivalent industry experience also considered
Automotive industry experience and knowledge
Ability to organize and be confident managing projects within set deadlines
Ability to multitask effectively within a team environment in managing priorities.
