IT Support Technician - Canterbury - £24,000

IT Support Technician required to join our client based in Canterbury delivering high quality IT support to customers. This is the perfect role for an individual with a keen interest in IT with 1st line exposure to grow and develop their skills ina supportive environment.

Responsibilities:


  • Providing 1st line and occasionally 2nd line IT support for routine support issues.
  • Monitor, prioritise and resolve incoming support calls from staff members whilst working in a team.
  • Escalate difficult problems to senior member of staff to be dealt with whilst learning from senior members of staff to develop your skills.
  • Provide high quality technical support to members of staff across a broad range of technologies.
  • Complete regular operations and checks such as backups and status checks, printer operations and other reactive or proactive support maintenance tasks such as ensuring stability, security, and performance of the infrastructure.
  • Ensure all documentation is maintained to the highest standards.
  • Ensure all digital security and safety of all service users, systems, and data always.
  • Work collaboratively with other members of staff to ensure project implementation work is completed to tight schedules and to the highest level of accuracy.

Requirements:


  • A keen interest in IT with the willingness to learn from senior members of staff and develop in the position.
  • Knowledge of Windows 10, Office 365 as well as hardware knowledge and troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure technologies is desirable but not essential.
  • Knowledge of network systems such as Citrix services, NetScaler, virtualisation, cloud computing and Meru wireless networks advantageous but not essential.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills is essential for the role.
  • Must be able to commute between two sites within Canterbury so a full UK driving licence and use of your own vehicle is essential.
