    Oliver Wyman is looking for a Director of Internal Communications for Europe

    The Opportunity

    We collaborate closely with senior leaders, topic owners, our Marketing, external communication, social media, Inclusion, Belonging, and Diversity (IBD), Human Capital (HC), and Event planning teams on a variety of initiatives and campaigns to achieve our goal to be an amazing place to work and in shaping and serving our client's most transformative moments.

    The Director of Internal Communications for Europe proactively develops and executes the internal communications and colleague engagement strategy for the European Region (11 countries, 2800 colleagues) working closely with the European Region leaders, European Market leaders; the Executive Director, Global Internal communications; and members of the European Business Impact Team. The successful candidate will also proactively lead and collaborate on global strategic communication initiatives with our global leadership teams and other functional leaders on internal communications strategies.

    Specifically, you'll be responsible for:

    Collaboratively developing and executing internal communication and colleague engagement strategies with senior leaders; launching and maintaining new and innovative campaigns and channels

    • Working closely with the firm's senior leaders in Europe, to help colleagues feel informed, engaged, and a sense of pride and belonging.
    • Developing creative ways to increase engagement, build trust, and encourage greater knowledge sharing and collaboration
    • Recommending and developing communications campaigns for diverse topics and programs using creative techniques; function as the conductor of the orchestra, working closely with the Business Impact Team, Human Capital, Marketing, Inclusion & Diversity, and internal Creative Studio teams.

    Enabling and supporting strong connectivity across the European region, its Markets, and globally to enhance our culture and support the flow of information

    • Working closely with European Leadership Team and Executive Director, Internal Communications on strategies and techniques to achieve this.
    • Leading and supporting global and regional initiatives, as needed, including internal competitions and awards programs, developing, and overseeing live virtual talks, podcast and video production, or other multi-media efforts.
    • Independently identifying issues and opportunities for improvement and innovation and provide compelling and well thought out solutions to problems of high complexity.
    • Overseeing measurement / reporting on campaigns, budgetary spend and measure and analyze the success of communications activities.
    • Undertaking campaigns, program reviews, and take learning into future campaigns and programs.

    Content Development / Writing and Editing

    • Ghost writing for senior leaders in various parts of the business as needed.
    • Sourcing and developing content for regional Managing Partners (in-person / virtual events, video, etc.)
    • Using digital storytelling and other creative techniques to bring our people and culture to life such as humor, infographics, light-hearted internal competitions, gamification, brainteasers, listicles, as well as short form articles.

    Crisis Communication and Issues Management

    • In the event of a crisis or issue management situation, leading and driving the response in Europe in coordination with the Executive Director, Internal Communications; Europe Region leaders; and other involved internal stakeholders with all required steps and actions: action plan development, talking points, Q&As, etc.

    Qualifications and Skills required for the role:

    • At least 10-15 years of experience in communications, marketing, or journalism - strong writing and editing abilities are essential.
    • You'll have strong leadership skills and have the ability to influence and advise senior stakeholders.
    • You'll demonstrate and can bring interesting content alive in innovative and newsworthy ways- solid project management skills are required
    • Strong technology knowledge especially related to communication tools and multi-media channels including such as SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Dynamics CRM), WordPress, podcasting technologies, video editing, and/or HTML is ideal.
    • Knowledge of digital media and social media will be essential in this role and you must be willing to understand and implement emerging practices and technologies as to provide thought-leadership and guidance on current trends in social media and corporate intranets and leading-edge new media thinking.
    • You'll be able to understand Oliver Wyman's strategic goals and have a mindset towards building the firm's culture through exciting/interesting internal communications and engagement efforts.
    • You'll have a passion for ideas and strong intellect that will lead to positive collaboration experiences.
    • You'll be comfortable in a fluid or unstructured environment where priorities often shift.
    • Strong analytical and planning skills to assess campaign performance are essential
    • A Bachelor's or master's degree in business, communications, marketing, digital marketing, journalism, or creative writing / literature preferred
