    Description

    Our long term valued client is looking for 2 Finishing Operative's to join their team.

    Finishing Staff

    • To be responsible for staff members under your supervision
    • To ensure overall responsibility that all team members are fully aware of their role and responsibilities
    • To ensure overall responsibility for the training process for junior operatives is in line with company guidelines and standards
    • To ensure that all team members are motivated and work as a team to fulfil department objectives
    • To ensure all staff receive full induction for company procedures and policies
    • To ensure staff are kept up to date and trained in respect of new and updated procedures.

    Procedures

    • To comply with all company procedures in relation to ISO accreditation's and Health and Safety
    • To ensure all department documentation is being completed correctly and in line with current procedures
    • To ensure that a comprehensive 'handover' is fulfilled when handing over to the following shift
    • To ensure staff have completely reconciled all jobs in line with company processes and procedures
    • To ensure procedures in relation to stock movements are adhered to and in line with good housekeeping policy
    • To continuously seek improvements within the department to add efficiency's and produce work at the lowest cost possible.

    Production Workflow

    • To advise Scheduling of timings when requested for production of Time & Sequence Plans.
    • To work flexibly across various assets within the department in accordance with the individual's skill set.
    • To take ownership for on time delivery of materials from department to department within the group.
    • To ensure a proactive approach for planning and achieving deadlines.
    • To ensure the expectations for each, and every job designated to machines arrive in departments in accordance with time and sequence plans.
    • To promote a 'Push Policy' within the workflow process within departments.
    • To always ensure good communications, including up to date status of work, highlighting potential problems.

    Background/ Experience: A solid background in all aspects of Litho Finishing.

    • Operate Guillotine (Polar/Prism)
    • Operate folder (Stahl/MBO)
    • Operate Saddle stitcher Heidleberg ST300/Muller Martini Prima)
    • Operate Mailer - Gluing inline
    • Operate perfect binder (BQ binder with HT trimmer)
    • Strong leadership
    • Decisions and actions in accordance with company interests
    • Computer literate where necessary
    • Good verbal and written communication
    • Comprehensive knowledge of machines in department
    • Methodical approach with good attention to detail
    • Well organised and structured

    Hours: 2pm to 10pm

    Salary range: £25k to £30k

    Overtime: Standard rate, but available
