SEND Teaching Assistant

Fixed Term Contract: 1 September Aug 2024

Part Time, 25 Hours per Week, Term Time Only


We are seeking to appoint an experienced, enthusiastic teaching assistant to support teaching staff within Broadwindsor CE VC Primary School.

This post is a fixed term appointment dependent on pupil specific SEN funding. Our school is a friendly and inclusive rural school at the centre of a village community.

The weekly hours are twenty five and the daily hours are;
8.30am - 3.30pm Monday & Thursday

8.30am pm Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday

  • Leading learning sequences to individuals and groups of pupils under the direction of the teacher, including those with SEND needs in a KS2 class.
  • Effectively supporting specific children with communication difficulties.
  • Delivering intervention programmes to develop the core skills of literacy including communication and numeracy.
  • Supporting children who have complex needs including their personal care

As care must be taken to avoid unconscious bias and any risk of discrimination, a person who will not be on the appointment panel will conduct the searches and will only share information if and when findings are relevant and of concern.

The salary on the advert is based on the full academic year being worked and includes paid leave entitlement. Salary payments will be made in twelve equal instalments. A pay adjustment will be necessary if the employee works less than the full academic year.


This role is UK based and your Right to Work will need to be established as part of the appointment process.
