IPEX Consulting is a leading UK-based professional services company specialising in the rail sector. **Key Responsibilities: The key responsibilities of a Rolling Stock Consultant include, but are not limited to:- Leading and being a team member for the delivery of projects;
- Supporting, managing, and coaching project teams;
- Identifying, defining, and pursuing business development opportunities;
- Actively establishing and consolidating client contacts in the industry;
- Leading and making key contributions to proposal development, including writing winning material and budgeting for project success;
- Writing thought leadership articles;
- Demonstrating interest in company strategy;
- Making a contribution to company development;
- Actively pursuing personal growth.
IPEX Consulting provides diligent railway rolling stock and train systems commercial engineering and strategy consultancy advice, as well as project services, to manufacturers, financiers, authorities, and operators worldwide in the private and public sectors.
We've contributed to multi-billion-pound contracts as well as small but crucial studies and decisions, including preparing 2,000-page bids, challenging standards compliance, formulating decarbonisation strategic advice, driving reliability and performanceimprovement, and benchmarking commercial data and operating and capital costs, and our real-time operational knowledge and professional assurance ethic routinely solve a myriad of transport problems.

The key skills and qualities IPEX requires are:
- Degree qualified in mechanical, electrical, electronic, or systems engineering.
- 25 years' experience.
- Interested in the commercial aspects of engineering and experienced in the railway industry.
- Experience of project management formally or informally.
- Experience of report writing skills to a high standard with attention to detail, spelling, and grammatical correctness as well as clear, assertive, and unimpeachable conveyance of meaning.
- Enthusiasm to work flexibly and where necessary outside standard business hours to engage with our global client base.
- Ability to work autonomously by yourself and as part of a wider team.
- Logical mind to analyse complex data sets to interpret meaning and develop strategic decisions, including business cases and financial models.
- Willingness to engage in business development, or to learn and contribute towards business development, both in client engagement and in writing compelling bid response documents.
- Curiosity to research and investigate technical and technological innovations and solutions to deliver our clients' requirements.
