    We have an exciting opportunity within the issue prevention team at JLR, the team is dedicated to improving JLR's quality and customer satisfaction. The Issue Prevention department mission is: "To deliver exceptional customer experience by driving technical risk reduction at the earliest opportunity through coaching, mentoring and facilitating Failure Mode Avoidance methodologies throughout the enterprise".

    As a PFMEA lead engineer you will be responsible for working with Manufacturing teams in the different technology centres to ensure robust, consistent application of PFMEA to identify process risks and implementation of mitigation actions (process controls) to reduce overall risk. Detailed responsibilities are shown below.

    WHAT TO EXPECT


    • Coach, facilitate and/or mentor PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) projects on new and existing processes.

    • Drive risk identification and reduction in Manufacturing via deep dives on targeted processes and failure modes.

    • Lead improvement of our PFMEA processes and training material.

    • Lead training of the Manufacturing Engineering teams in FMEA tools and processes.

    • Maximise the value of information in the JLR Body of Knowledge by acting as the quality gatekeeper for Process Standards and Prevent Recurrence.

    • Lead PFMEA assessments based on agreed upon quality criteria to continuously improve the quality of PFMEAs, sharing the results and working alongside the Manufacturing Engineering Teams to define improvement plans.

    WHAT YOU'LL NEED


    • Extensive experience and application of Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis

    • Strong understanding manufacturing development and mass production build processes

    • Experience and application of Manufacturing process controls/control plan

    • Facilitation skills (successfully leading a diverse group of stakeholders)

    • Experience of DFMEA, PFMEA and control plan linkages

    • Knowledge and practical experience of latest industry standards (AIAG VDA handbook 2019 or SAE J or other relevant standard, such as aerospace standards)

    • Experience leading a team and helping others grow

    • Able to demonstrate critical thinking skills (Structured problem solving, logical reasoning, seeking relevant information)

    • Good understanding of prevention and detection controls, including measurement and inspection methods.
