About the role


Throughout the Forensic & Valuation Services team ("
FVS") graduate scheme you will have the opportunity to gain exposure to three key areas of the team, resulting in a broad understanding of the specialist services we can offer our clients.


  • In the litigation and arbitration team, you will be supporting our Experts (the Partners and Directors) prepare expert witness evidence for Courts and Tribunals. You will be given responsibilities from early on, whereby the work you do will feed directly into the expert evidence.
  • In the forensic investigation and financial crime team you will be supporting investigations into corporates, as well as helping us prevent, detect and manage financial crime issues.


We now operate under a hybrid working model, so as a graduate your time will be split between working from the office, visiting client sites when required, working from home, or studying for your professional exams.


During your first two years you will:

  • Undertake quantitative analysis which will feed directly into expert evidence;
  • Undertake desktop research and collate information for team members;
  • Develop a deeper understanding of the services offered both in the: (i) FVS team; and (ii) other Mazars service lines;
  • Prepare targeted financial analysis of data under the supervision of project managers;
  • Undertake indepth document review to identify key documents in forensic investigations or litigation/arbitration support;
  • Assist senior colleagues with preparing tables, charts, exhibits and appendices for inclusion in reports;
  • Contribute to the efficient operation of each project assignment by proactively providing support to senior colleagues;
  • Support managers with interviewing of key witnesses in forensic investigations; and
  • Spend time studying towards an ACA qualification.

In your third year you will:

  • Be responsible for drafting small sections of expert reports;
  • Support more senior members of staff at networking events;
  • Contribute to nonchargeable work in the team, including the preparation of client proposals and business development opportunities;
  • Undertake more complex financial analysis, for example preparing valuation models or lossofprofit models;
  • Liaise directly with the client, answering queries in a professional and knowledgeable manner;

An introduction to our Forensic & Valuation Services team
The is a fast growing, dynamic and close-knit team at Mazars.

We consist of over 65 professionals across 4 offices in the UK and provide support across three main areas of work, being:


  • Litigation and arbitration we act as financial and accounting experts in a variety of legal disputes;
  • Forensic investigation and financial crime we mange financial crime issues and conduct investigations into matters such as fraud, bribery, and corruption; and
  • Valuations we provide valuations in a variety of contexts such as tax requirements, financial reporting requirements, or in relation to an acquisition or restructuring.
