Description
We are recruiting for a Compliance and Date Protection Officer to support our Governance team.

This role will be required to undertake the Data Protection Officer role and Internal Audit programme coordination and liaison, reporting progress to the Governance Manager.


Key responsibilities include:


  • Act as the Data Protection Officer for the Saffron Group, providing advice to colleagues on data protection and ensuring compliance with GDPR.
  • Drive progression of Internal Audit actions, through frequent departmental engagement, provide business insight and lessons learned from assurance processes.
  • Review Data Protection/GDPR policies and monitor ICO reports and requirements, provide GDPR training, respond to Data Protection/GDPR related complaints, respond to Subject Access Requests, undertake Data Privacy Impact Assessment verification, and physical data spotchecks at the office.
  • Maintain and oversee Policy management and send policy pathway reminders for reviews and ensure polices and strategies are published in the appropriate location when approved.
  • Participate in Data Protection Forums to share and establish best practice on data protection practises.
  • Experience of working in a Data Protection Officer role
  • Experience of coordinating Internal Audit Services and a strong understanding of Internal Audit services and processes
  • Good IT skills to include Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams.
  • Excellent time management skills, including an ability to prioritise work effectively and successfully manage competing priorities/ projects.
  • Well organised, calm and methodical with the ability to be able to prioritise to meet and work to tight deadlines in a rapidly changing environment whilst planning, generating and adapting solutions accordingly.
  • Possess a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to coordinate and plan schedules with others. Ability to undertake checks and review evidence of business practices across the organisation.
  • Knowledge of GDPR and Data Protection legislation and regulations
