- Based in our multi-disciplinary Therapy Team, you will work in the Hospice and in the community to support patients in a variety of settings; in-patient, outpatient, Day Centre or in their own homes.
- Using holistic approach, you will undertake assessments as well as plan and deliver high quality patient care.
- With your expertise and lived experience, you will be able to contribute to the evaluation and development of our services. With ongoing investment in your professional and personal development , we will help you to develop and enhance your existing skills, knowledge and experience. You will also have full access to in-service training and courses on and off site to support your CPD.
- Be qualified as a Physiotherapist
- Be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council
- Have demonstrable experience in a variety of clinical settings and transferrable skills. Access to own transport is required to travel with equipment across the locality during a normal working day.

- The Specialist Physiotherapist at St. Margarets is a specialist practitioner with extensive knowledge, skills and competency to manage a complex caseload of patients with advanced, progressive life limiting disease.
- You will undertake the holistic assessment, planning and delivery of a consistently high standard of specialist palliative and supportive care in accordance with the hospice policy, procedures and standards.
- You will be based in the Therapy Team working as an integrated member of the multi-disciplinary team in the Hospice and in the community.
- You will establish effective working relationships with all internal referrers and referrers from Primary and Secondary Health Care teams, and act as a resource for professionals and non- professionals involved in palliative care within the community.
- You will take responsibility for your own clinical caseload of complex patients working as an autonomous practitioner, without direct supervision. Supervision will be in the form of regular formal training and clinical reasoning sessions, peer review, and multi-disciplinary team meetings.

- BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy or equivalent qualification.
- HCPC registration.
- Member of Chartered Society of Physiotherapy or equivalent body.
- Access to a car in order to undertake community, outreach and domiciliary work.
- Recognised teaching qualification/ relevant teaching experience.
- Ability to adapt to changing or conflicting priorities.
- Can demonstrate a clear understanding of palliative care and the needs of patients and families.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the role.
- Can deal sensitively and compassionately with patients who are impacted by pain, dementia, limited mobility or life-limiting illness.
- Demonstrate a passion for Palliative Care, either through experience or a desire to learn.
- Able to communicate effectively with people about difficult or sensitive topics and/or in difficult situations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to liaise effectively with patients, the multidisciplinary team and across organisations and individuals at a range of levels.
- Able to supervise junior staff and facilitate their development.
- Able to demonstrate sound clinical decision making in the assessment of patients and the implementation and evaluation of treatment plans plus patient centred short and long-term goals.

St Margaret's Hospice Care has a fantastic opportunity for a Physiotherapist or Developmental Physiotherapist to join our multi-disciplinary palliative care team. Based in Taunton, you will join us on a full time, permanent basis and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of £32,414 - £40,888 per annum , depending on experience.Although this is a full-time role, we understand that different ways of working suit different people which is why we are open to a part time working patterns.
