Job summary
South Tees Foundation Trust Pharmacy Department is proud to advertise this new post of Advanced Clinical Pharmacist for Neurology. This new role is part of the progress and expansion of our advanced level of practice for pharmacists.
The post-holder will be required to innovatively develop the role, and work on their own initiative. They will work closely within the neurology pharmacy team, as well as within the neurology multidisciplinary team, ensuring that services are provided in accordance with relevant professional, ethical, legal and locally agreed policies, procedures, guidelines and standards.
The post-holder will be required to develop excellent rapport with patients and requires excellent consultation skills. Exceptional communication skills are vital for this role.
The post-holder will be a key member of the clinical pharmacy team, making major contributions to the development and delivery of pharmacy medicines management strategies and the implementation of development plans for pharmacy services
Main duties of the job
The post holder will ensure safe, effective, and optimum clinical pharmacy services to patients receiving neurological medicines including sleep medications, immunosuppressants, and other high cost neurological drugs. They will provide expert advice, guidance and information on treatment choices, medicines use, clinical pharmacy and financial issues to senior staff and mangers within the services.
