SHEQ Manager – Anaerobic Digestion
Up to 66,000 + comprehensive benefits package

About the role:
Astute's Renewables Team is proudly and exclusively partnered with a key business and influential player in the UK anaerobic digestion / biogas sector. The company are hiring a SHEQ Manager to cover a small portfolio of assets and we're looking for a safety conscious and collaborative people-person to join the team with the ultimate goal of driving a positive SHEQ ethos across the company.
This SHEQ Manager role comes with a salary of up to 66,000, a huge benefits package and genuine hybrid working with site presence too for inspections.

Responsibilities and duties:
Reporting to the Head of SHEQ you will:
Lead health, safety, environmental and quality processes and management systems across a portfolio of anaerobic digestion assets
* Carry out weekly and monthly inspections across a portfolio of sites from London to north Norfolk
* Manage the PAS110 certification
* Provide specific and relevant SHEQ advice to operational staff on site
* Develop a SHEQ centric culture and ethos, ensuring that operational staff see SHEQ as an important part of their role
* Look for continuous improvement opportunities across the site, looking to implement these where possible
* Closely monitor all SHEQ legislation and regulation, ensuring that you update all relevant personnel when required
* Implement and maintain ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO 45001
* Help to standardise HSEQ practices across the company
* Attend and host SHEQ meetings, both internally and externally
* Attend sites and the office near Cambridge when required
* Other duties as required
Professional qualifications:
We are looking for someone with the following:
A higher education / qualifications in Health and Safety, a minimum of NEBOSH General Certificate
* Experience in communicating with the Environment Agency and other regulatory bodies
* An appropriate membership is desired, ie IEMA, IOSH etc
* At least 5 years experience in the role
* Experience in the anaerobic digestion or energy from waste sector. Experience in a process plant would be a back up.

The SHEQ Manager role would suit someone who is:
Proactive and can implement ideas from the bottom up
* Someone with very strong English and communication skills, both written and verbal
* A people person and someone who wants to make a genuine change
