We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Finance Analyst to join our dynamic team.

In this role, you will play a crucial role in supporting various financial activities, providing valuable insights and analysis to drive informed decision-making across the organisation.

Weekly category sales and margin performance for the two business units within the Retail division
Interrogating various data sources to identify trends and drivers and creating scenario models to support management decision-making.
Analysing performance versus plan and providing MI to support the analysis.
Reconciling expected performance versus actual performance in the general ledgers
Assisting the Trading team with making sure that billing timelines are adhered to
Supplier Debt analysis to highlight, with the Trading team, delays in the collection of Supplier and Retrospective Income

Assist in the development of the various reporting suites, building Excel models, KPI packs and dashboards, using a variety of data sources including data warehouses, financial ledgers, and planning systems.

Contribute to elements of both Trading and Retail forecasts, challenging teams were necessary to derive robust and accurate planning.

Investigating price errors within Retail and Wholesale data.
Reconciling commercial reporting data with monthly management accounts
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and solve complex financial problems.
Strong commercial background, gained either via an industry route (ideally Retail or FMCG sectors)
Proven ability to build productive business relationships with a wide network of finance and non-finance colleagues.
Intellectual curiosity to understand the financial and non-financial drivers of the business and their implications for decision-makers.
Excellent verbal and written communication style and a proven ability to influence a variety of senior stakeholders.
Strong MS Excel skills, home in an environment of operating and interrogating financial forecasting models.
Comfortable handling large volumes of data with good attention to detail
