You'll be working with the Senior Horological Conservator to maintain and conserve clocks, watches, barometers, thermometers, and sundials in the Royal Collection, located at royal residences including Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle and the Palace of Holyroodhouse.


Based at our Buckingham Palace conservation workshop, you'll work on aspects of conservation, restoration and maintenance of the horological collection under the direction of the Senior Horological Conservator.

You'll work closely with Decorative Arts colleagues in London and Windsor in the conservation, curatorial and collections management teams.


Above all, you'll aim for high standards in all that you do and knowing you're helping preserve a unique collection for generations to come will excite you in this role.


  • About youWith a degree or equivalent in Horology to the BHI final grade standard, and experience working on horological items and good general knowledge and interest in all things mechanical, you'll be the person we're looking for.


In addition, your organisational and time management skills will be vital, in order to prioritise your work to assist the Senior Horological Conservator meet multiple deadlines, while remaining flexible with timings if priorities change.

You're an excellent communicator, able to build good working relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders.

Above all, you're driven to maintain the very highest standards of care in all that you do.

You'll have good inter-personal skills, a willingness to learn and can be flexible in order to support the needs of a busy department.
