Transport & Operations Admin Support:

Permanent position, full time 39 hours at our Kendal Distribution Centre. Salary £23,000.


Overall purpose of the role
To provide administrative support to the Supply Chain Transport Manager with a keen interest in progressing within the role.

To provide administrative support for site to ensure internal and external demands are met.


Scope of role:

To provide support to the Transport Manager as required and reception/welfare based administration to the site


Major accountabilities of role:


  • Provide administrative support to the Transport Manager across a variety of third party providers, processes, KPIs & SLAs
  • Liaise with third party transport providers and site operational team colleagues as required to support the Transport function
  • Be the initial face and Ambassador of the Distribution Centre in a Reception type environment
  • Positively reflect the Brand and site by meeting and greeting any external visitors to the site and be the first point of contact for any incoming general phone calls and post; redirecting these as appropriate
  • Provide general welfare facilities support to the site team e.g. canteen and uniform queries; issuing receipts for colleague stock purchases
  • Provide administrative support for general Site & Head Office processes and requests e.g. cash handling, charity stock records
  • Maintain the site stationary stocks as appropriate
  • Collate information and provide regular general site updates on our communications platform - LIME
  • Maintain reception and meeting room standards of presentation and welfare

Experience and capability requirements:


Knowledge/experience:


  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint
  • Proven experience in Administration
  • Experience in dealing face to face positively with a range of people

Capability:


  • Personable and positive with internal and external customers
  • Accurate, clear and concise in all forms of communication
