My client a highly reputable public sector organisation has an excellent opening for an Estates Manager on an interim basis. This role will be likely to be for 6 months and is looking to pay £500- £570 per day inside IR35. The role will be hybridworking.
The organisation is currently identifying a suitable location outside London and the South-East to host their new corporate office.
The Senior Estate and FM Manager will be a dedicated key player within the Programme Team to deliver the ambition to move out of London by 2024

They are looking for an individual who with experience or exposure to office relocations who can guide through the does and don'ts and can take a leading role in driving the programme forward.

They are also looking for someone who understand or is willing to learn the Government Workplace Design Guide.

Finally, they are looking for some who can collaborate and develop effective working relationships with the wider programme colleagues, our counterpartsin DWP, Cabinet Office and GPA; and who can negotiate a good deal for MaPS with our future landlord and our existing one.

The estate manager will line manage the FM and estate officer and the office manager for the new office and will be supported by a dedicated commercial manager for estates and FM, by external property lawyers, contracted out architect, project manager and otherspecialist support, if required.

This is a great opportunity to play a big part in an important programme which aims at achieving the government agenda of levelling up.

Working as the Estates Manager, your key responsibilities will be.
1) Exit the existing lease and negotiate with the landlord on dilapidation costs
2) Agree the lease agreement with the new public sector landlord in new site
3) Lead the design and fit out of the office which will be approximately 850 sqmt.
4) Lead the setup of the interim office
5) lead the relocation from the current office
6) manage the FM provision in the existing and new offices including working closely with the Health & Safety lead to ensure offices are compliant with H&S regulations.


The Estate and FM Manager will need to have the following skills and experience
:


  • Experience of office relocation
  • Public sector experience, ideally within central government either on a supply or client side.
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Understanding or experience of large programmes with multidisciplinary teams
  • Office and workspace design
  • Colleague engagement and employee experience (EX)
  • Building user profiles

Desirable skills
:


  • A member or working towards an FM qualification, for example IWFM.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the:
  • Government Estates Strategy 2018 (specifically Places for Growth and Smarter Working)
Government Property Agency Strategy specifically Great Places to Work)
