    Full time position available for skilled manual machinists (turners / millers / horizontal & vertical borers).

    Ability to read/understand engineering drawings and measure accurately essential. Also a willingness to learn and challenge yourself.
    Varied and interesting jobs - not mass production.
    Overtime regularly available.


    Salary:
    £15.00 per hour plus (dependent on experience)


    39 Hours per week:
    Day Shift
    Monday to Thursday 08:00 - 17:00

    Friday 08:00 - 13:00

    Overtime Rate Applicable
    25 days holiday per year, plus bank holidays

    Mill Hill Heavy Engineering are seeking time served Manual Machinists to join our company based in Blackburn.

    The company specialises in the engineering of large machined parts & equipment for power generation, oil & gas, paper industries and much more.

    We service a variety of customers from small enterprises to blue chip customers in the UK and overseas.

    We are at an exciting point in our development and, due to considerable growth, require more manual machinists to join our busy machining team.


    THE ROLE
    To ensure safety and quality procedures are adhered to and assist in the improvement of processes.
    Timely production of parts to pre-determined deadlines.
    Produce work to the highest quality standard to achieve customer satisfaction.
    Work within British Standards as per company procedures.
    Support internal teams to get to the root cause of specific issues.
    To take part in specialist or multi-disciplinary team activities.
    To behave in a professional manner at all times when dealing with customers, suppliers and colleagues.


    THE PERSON
    Time served Machinist
    Experience running manual lathes
    Manual milling, slotting, vertical & horizontal boring
    Ability to work to fine tolerances
    Good team work and machining capability is essential
