    About the Role:

    We are seeking a motivated claims specialist with at least two years' experience in US, UK and ROW casualty claims. The successful candidate will be expected to handle and resolve claims emanating from various jurisdictions in accordance with our Claims Charter / Code of Conduct and Claim process guidelines.

    About the Department & Team:

    The Casualty Claims department handles claims through all stages from initial notification to conclusion including analysis of new notifications, coverage, liability and quantum, establishing and monitoring appropriate reserves and making claims payments as required.

    Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively handling a cross section of UK, International and US Casualty claims from first advice to closure, investing the necessary level of expertise required to investigate coverage, liability, quantum and strategy aspects of a file
  • Liaising closely with relevant stakeholders throughout the life cycle of the claim. For example the policyholder, broker, co-insurers, actuaries and underwriters.
  • Ensuring compliance with approved Panel list including provision of direction to external lawyers and adjusters
  • Promote the LSM Claims Charter and Code of Conduct delivering excellence in client service.
  • Adherence to all relevant regulatory requirements forms part of your role, and the demonstration of behaviours as set out in the Conduct Risk Policy, as they relate to your role, is core to LSM's commitment to our Liberty Values, placing customers at the centre of our business and behaving with integrity. These requirements include the Senior Managers and Certification Regime Conduct Rules ,Solvency II, fair treatment of customers, Financial Crime, Data Protection, Conflicts of Interest, and Whistleblowing
  • Skills and Experience:

  • Technical experience and record of casualty claim handling.
  • Proven record of maintaining effective relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Ability to make decisions and exhibit sound and reasoned judgment and/or escalate as necessary
  • Competent organisational, interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Competent analytical and oral/written presentation skills
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Ability to work alone or as part of a team
  • Self-motivated and dynamic
  • Ability to manage/prioritise multiple tasks
  • Excellent IT skills.
  • Experience of data analysis.
