BSMHFT would like to appoint a Head of Quality for Provider Collaboratives.

This is a twelve-month secondment/fixed term opportunity working in a face paced environment driving forward the Quality Agenda for our Provider Collaboratives.


The purpose of this role is to provide senior strategic visible clinical and professional leadership, for the quality, safety and patient experience agenda.

Providing specialist expertise and taking specific responsibility for patient safety, quality and experience, they will promote quality improvement, innovation, assurance and performance that improves quality of care and patient outcomes, driving transformation through agreed improvement models.


This work will include, but not be restricted to:

  • Providing strong clinical leadership, direction and support to members of the Mental Health quality team of the MHPC, the quality assurance function of RO and the Section 117 & Specialist Placement Quality Team.
  • Directly line managing the senior clinical leads for MHPC and RO and LD within the team.
  • Ensuring effective arrangements are in place for maintaining quality oversight of MHPC and RO commissioned services for people with mental health problems, learning difficulties or autism for RO and s117 placements.
  • Ensuring effective arrangements are in place for the oversight of individual MHPC funding packages for this cohort, in particular section 117 packages.
  • Representing the MHPC and RO from a quality perspective in relevant local forums for mental health strategic work. Working with the MHPC and RO, quality assurance and commissioning team to ensure robust processes for learning and system change arising from serious incidents relating to mental health, learning disability or autism are in place.

This role gives the opportunity for hybrid working and you will typically be asked to work in a hybrid way, working from your home and also from Trust HQ The Uffculme Centre, or any other agreed site.
