Rutherford Briant are looking for a Qualified Financial Controller to join a fast-growing business based close to Maldon for a growing Distribution business.


This is a brand new role with the view of this person moving into a Finance Director position in the next few years.


Managing a small team, you will be responsible for leading month-end, getting involved in various projects and partnering with the sales and operational teams.


Key Duties include:

  • Oversee the Accounts Payable, Account Recievable, management and financial accounts
  • Prepare the budgets and forecasts monthly including analysis
  • Produce and publish timely monthly financial statements
  • Lead the regulatory reporting
  • Support monthend and yearend close process
  • Maintain the fixed asset registerComplete the year end process and assist with the audit
  • Produce and manage an accurate week rolling cash flow forecast
  • Oversee completion and submission of quarterly VAT returns
  • Receive, post and seek authorisation of purchase invoices and payment run
  • Resolve invoice queries
  • Produce sales invoices and selfbilling invoices in a timely manner
  • Completion of bank reconciliations
  • Build and maintain good working relationships with senior management team and assist the CEO to ensure financial controls remain in place across the company.
  • Management of finance team
