Would you like to work at our brand-new home in Southampton, Hampshire?
Do you live in the local area and have the Right to Work in the UK?
Can you keep calm in a crisis and have had exposure to behaviours that challenge?

We are looking for experienced Support Workers who are willing to work Full Time or Part Time, BSL trained to Level 1 or above, or a willingness to learn BSL. You should also have experience of supporting someone with autism.

If you have answered YES to the above, you could be exactly what we are looking for. Come and be part of something extraordinary

    Who will you be supporting?

"Hi, my name is **Joe Blogs and I'm shortly going to be living in my own home in Southampton. I am supported by SeeAbility. I use BSL to communicate, and you will too

I am looking for patient, positive, friendly and happy individuals to join my team of support workers. You need to support me to lead the life I want and to encourage me to be gradually more and more skilled and confident. I love to interact with people and I have a curious personality. I really enjoy doing things that most young men like to do like kick a football go for walks, eat out etc. I also like table top activities ranging from puzzles to art. I can be very playful too so you have to keep up with me.

I'd love for people to join my team who have the same interests as me so they would need to be physically fit, 100% reliable and able to provide me with personal care support. I have autism and sometimes my behaviour can be challenging but that shouldn't stop me doing the things I love and leading an active life. When I am not in a good place I will stop doing things for myself and I will require a lot of personal care.

I'll need your encouragement to learn life skills and gain independence but that's something everyone needs at times; as long as you are patient, confident and can see the value in small gains, will follow coaching from my behaviour support person and are willing to help when needed we will get along just fine"
