    Fitness Duty Manager - Bristol

We are Places for People Group, we're a social enterprise that believes it's people that make a community. That's why we build homes and deliver services for everyone in the community to thrive. At Places Leisure we are changing lives by creating active places and healthy people for communities to thrive, and we want to be the UK's leading health and wellbeing enabler.

We aren't your typical company. We apply the same philosophy to our People as we do to our communities, ensuring our team is appreciated and supported. At Places for People, you're more than just a number - you're part of our cause.

    More about your role

As Fitness Duty Manager you will be responsible for managing and developing our fitness offer, including the group exercise programme, overseeing and recruiting self-employed personal trainers, launch of our summer 2024 fitness suite refurbishment, as well as playing a key role in our healthy communities strategy. Your working week will include duty manager shifts as a building key holder along with admin time for your fitness responsibilities. A Pool Plant Operator qualification along with a National Pool Lifeguarding Qualification is desirable, however, full training will be provided for the successful candidate. A minimum of a level 2 fitness instructor qualification (or equivalent) is essential. Additional fitness qualifications such as group exercise, exercise to music or personal training would be advantageous. There will also be training opportunities in both fitness and managerial qualifications as part of your on-going development with Places Leisure. You will work with the centre management team, reporting directly to the General Manager.

    More about you

With this role you will be managing a small team, so previous experience in a supervisory/management capacity within a leisure facility would be desirable.

You will have a keen interest in the fitness industry and be looking to develop a career in a managerial role. You will have strong organisational and people skill, and be as comfortable delivering fitness training as you are planning long term strategies to promote and develop a busy fitness function.

You will represent Places Leisure and you will need to be a motivated individual who will take on responsibility to lead a team and ensure the efficient day to day running of the centre. You will need a flexible approach to work being open to working shifts including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
