We are currently looking to recruit a full-time Operations andVisual Merchandising Assistant to support our Retail Team, based at ourflagship store in Guildford, Surrey.


Situated between the bustling high street and historic castle,our OKA store is nestled in the Tunsgate Quarter amongst a host of other luxuryretailers.

The large store showcases our complete (and extensive) collectionacross 11,000 sq ft with a garden area that displays our outdoor range.

Reporting directly to the Store Maintenance Manager theOperations and VM Assistant is responsible for providing an enhanced retailexperience for OKA customers through the provision of outstanding customerservice, product knowledge and enthusiasm for beautiful interiors.

TheOperations and VM Assistant is responsible for assisting both back of house andon the showroom floor, interacting with team and clients and supporting asnecessary.

This role supports the Visual Merchandising team with store set upand housekeeping with installation of stock across the ranges.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Operational:

  • To be present at the shop at the time of thedeliveries, in order to assist with the unloading of the delivery van andorganise all relevant paperwork for the driver.
  • To support with removing the delivery to thestockroom and following correct process, ensuring that all discrepancies arerecorded and followed up on.
  • Ensure that the stockroom is clean, tidy, andorganised at all times, ensuring all staff maintain order and tidiness of thestockroom.
  • To support Store Maintenance Manager withstock management processes, housekeeping and cycle counts to maintain inventorylevels in store.
  • Identify and manage faulty stock and stock withoutbarcode tickets so that the customer journey is clear.
  • To ensure that all stock leaving the shop isbooked out, packaged correctly, and ensuring that all paperwork is completedfor couriers and Parcel force
  • To pick up customer requests for the Shops SalesTeam and deliver to the shop floor as and when required
  • To be present at the shop stock check to assistwith coordinating the count. To be present when setting up for Promos andSales and other key commercial times (holiday must not be booked to coincidewith these stock checks).
  • Support the Head Office and Management team with anynew stock management processes in store and to test and provide feedback.
  • Provide feedback on any stock related issues thatarise in store and to carry out Inventory training requirements to the StoreManager/Inventory Team.
  • Ensure all Operations processes are adhered to bythe teams.
  • To attend meetings where necessary to keep allprocesses in order.
  • Train new starters on the company Operationspolicies and the importance of stock management from a stock room to salesfloor.

VisualMerchandising:

  • To ensure that the shop is always merchandised tothe Companys desired standard, with liaison with the VM Department and shopdisplays that are changed on a regular basis.
  • To liaise with the Shop Management Team regardingover stocks and stock that is running low within the shop.
  • To take pride in the showroom floor and maintaindisplays with the guidance of VM team and Store Management. To assist withinstallation of product into the showroom.
  • To pick stock for shop floor replenishment asrequested and maintain commercial bays from the VM and Management teamsguidance.
  • Any other related duties that are outlined from timeto time by the Shop Manager and Assistant Manager.
  • When required, to assist on the Shop Floor withassisting customers, customer sales and housekeeping.

ABOUT YOU

  • Previousluxury retail experience, ideally within the furniture or homeware sectors
  • Passion for providingbestinclass customer service and building lasting customer relationships
  • Provensoft selling skills, including linkselling of complimentary products
  • Good organisationalskills and the ability to prioritise
  • Flexible approach toworking weekends, public holidays and occasional travel to support other Storesand for meetings and training
