    Geography Teacher

    Open to applicants from early career to experienced teachers.

    The school:

    Diverse inner-city school helping to develop young people into strong members of their community. This comprehensive school has over 1100 students from year 7 to year 13 and is looking for a charismatic and enthusiastic candidate who will be able to teach Geography to KS3-4. Experience of teaching to KS5 is desirable, as well as being able to teach in other curriculum areas, but not essential.

    Fantastic on-site 6th form which has high attainment for students. This school also has excellent GCSE results, making it a popular school of choice in Bristol.

    As part of a Trust, this school can offer a rich variety of high quality CPD – excellent for recently qualified teachers, as well as catering for experienced colleagues to support career development and progression.

    The department:

    You in the role:

    • Will be able to show strong teaching and learning skills.
    • Have expert knowledge of Geography curriculum at KS3 + KS4.
    • Can plan and deliver inclusive curriculum content and deliver excellent outcomes for all learners.
    • Show proactive commitment to further professional development, as well as CPD beyond immediate role – seeking a breadth and depth of knowledge and experience.
    • Communicate and work effectively within your department and leadership team to ensure that underachievement is addressed quickly and effectively.
    • Contribute to wider school community – i.e.. Sports or extra curricular activity.
    • Be able to inspire and motivate students – both in their learning and educating in how to be a respected member of their community.
    • Marking regularly in line with department policy and give feedback that stimulates improved learning.
    • Have a sense of humour.
    • A can-do attitude.
    • Can work well under pressure.
    • Have a genuine care and respect of all students, staff and colleagues including their wellbeing and own mental health.
    • Committed to raising standards of achievement through innovative practice.
    • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
    • Adhere to school behaviour policy, including systems, routines and duties.

    Hours: Contractual – 32.5 hours.

    Salary: Main Pay Scale, MPS £30,000 - £41,333).

    UPS 1-3 (£43,266 - £46,525)

    Basis: Full Time (0.6/0.8 will also be considered)

    Start date: Tuesday 3rd September 2024.

    All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
