- Collaborate with other core team members to develop the overall vision and determine technical feasibility.
- Identify and analyse risks
- Resolve specific, complex, escalated issues and approve technical specifications.
- Develop high quality 3D assets to be used for games and applications
- Optimise 3D models for runtime applications
- Assess existing tools and design custom ones to support art pipelines and workflows to sustain the project vision (eg procedural environment generation, custom materials, etc...)
- Represent the art team in technical discussions and requirements meetings.
- Write documentation, and tutorials/training videos and provide training to the Art, Design, and Engineering departments.
- Texture 3D assets for pre-rendered or runtime applications
- Bachelor's degree in Art, Design, Technical discipline or other relevant training
- 5+ years of experience as a Unreal Artist in the video game industry.
- Advanced knowledge / hands-on experience with Unreal Engine.
- Advanced knowledge of Maya, Photoshop, Substance Designer.
- Experience writing and modifying shaders.
- Experience with version control software such as Perforce or Git.
- Advanced understanding of creative and game development processes.
- Open-minded team player attitude.
- Strong work ethic and self-motivated.
- Passionate about playing and making video games.
