    Default job background
    Description

The invites applications from talented, highly motivated, and ambitious postdoctoral scientists for a Research Associate position leading one or more projects exploring the distinct features of pathological aggregates in different types of dementia. The project will unveil morphological characteristics and toxicity mechanisms of protein aggregates that are associated with different neurodegenerative disorders. This knowledge will allow better understanding of how different aggregates may be degraded or escape degradation, and how they may be therapeutically targeted to prevent disease progression. You will use a multidisciplinary approach (protein biochemistry, advanced microscopy and various cell biology techniques) to identify the types of modifications and potential factors that are associated with the pathological aggregates.

at , located in. Postdocs in the Ye lab at Imperial enjoy excellent career development opportunities with:

  • Access to a range of cutting-edge technologies for 2D and 3D super-resolution imaging capabilities.
  • Dedicated iPSC culture facilities in the new state-of-the-art Sir Michael Uren Hub.
  • A collegial, team-oriented working environment.
  • National links with colleagues in the UK DRI and international links with colleagues at Harvard Medical School.
  • Support from the Postdoc and Fellows Development Centre () and Imperial and UK DRI ECR Communities
  • The opportunity to mentor, supervise and teach students.
