You will work closely as Perinatal lead with our clinical psychologist to determine the most suitable support and pathways for parents pre and post birth.

We are looking for someone who has experience of working with expectant parents to support their mental health and well-being.

    About us:

We are a dynamic and motivated team, working with parents across Walsall who are open to the Family Safeguarding Model.

We support parents and expectant parents with their mental health and well-being. Offering both individual therapeutic interventions and group interventions.

Our team sits within the wider Family Safeguarding Model in Walsall which aims to provide timely, tangible support to parents, and this includes the provision of specialist support for parents who are experiencing difficulties with their mental health, substance use and domestic abuse.

This team is currently made up of Clinical Psychologist, Assistant psychologist, Trainee psychologists, Mental Health Practitioner and Mental Health and Wellbeing Practitioners

We undertake mental health assessments, one-to-one therapeutic interventions such as trauma informed CBT and DBT alongside delivering group work, and bespoke emotional well-being work with parents.

We offer flexible working, with a hybrid approach of home working and office based working to maintain our team support and culture About the role:

This is a specialist role which requires you to have significant practical experience, knowledge and skills in approaches and methods to working with expectant parents.

In particular this requires a knowledge of perinatal and mental health support.

You will be responsible for developing interventions to work with parents pre and post birth and to support and supervise members of the team delivering those interventions to parents open within the Family Safeguarding Model.

You will specialise in methods and approaches to working with parents, and helping them to understand and meet their baby's needs.

Your prior experience and expertise will enable the team to develop bespoke and targeted interventions for parents, working in conjunction with the Family Safeguarding Clinical Psychologist to provide continued oversight and review.

You will draw on theory and best practice guidance across the sector, they will provide training and development to staff, and they will lead processes of consulting and seeking feedback from parents and families to inform continued service and practice improvement.
