JOB DESCRIPTION


This board level global leadership role, reporting directly to the Managing Director, requires an experienced professional who has a background in Finance, and a proven track record in working collaboratively across global organisations to deliver growth.

You will play a key role in 'charting the course' to deliver a clear strategic direction for the organisation.

The expectation for all Board level individuals at Fortress is to contribute across the organisation, not just within their functional expertise.


As an inspirational and proactive leader, you will utilise your experience and skills to enhance the organisation through business counsel, financial acumen and leadership.

You will be a natural leader and role model for your team, with the energy and enthusiasmneeded to inspire them to progress in their own careers.


Key Qualifications and Experience Required:


  • Minimum Degree educated with a post graduate finance qualification (or equivalent) and can demonstrate a history of success working in a global manufacturing organisation.
  • Have a breadth of commercial awareness to add strategic value and insights to discussions.
  • Ability to challenge the status quo and support innovative new approaches.
  • Demonstrate a "global mindset" with the ability to think broadly.
  • Proven negotiation skills and the ability to forge relationships across all levels of the business
  • Excellent commercial and financial acumen, with strong analytical skills.
  • Able to communicate complex financial information in a simple, engaging manner.
  • Committed to working harmoniously with shared leadership and in crossfunctional teams.
  • A strong culture fit with a bias for action, accountability, and teamwork.
  • Liaising and building relationships across the Halma companies and with the parent plc.

Key areas of responsibility of the role include:

  • A natural leader, influencing across the organisation and creating the long-term strategy for the company.
  • Influence and steer decision making and embed a culture of data driven decision making and commercial acumen.
  • Business partnering across the organisation.
  • Finance, governance, and reporting across the Fortress sites.
  • IT systems and digital optimization opportunities.
  • Provide commercial and financial leadership to Fortress and Halma, liaising with the parent company on all matters financial and risk related.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Qualified CIMA/ACA/ACCA
  • Previous experience in a senior finance leadership role ideally FD or Divisional FD
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Ideally experience of working for an international business
