With the move to our new corporate HQ at Fort Dunlop in early March, this role will be instrumental in supporting colleague engagement and delivering upon our corporate objectives and company values and ethos.


Role Purpose


In this new role of Senior HR Advisor, you will actively drive the management of all key ER caseload, working alongside our HR Business Partner, HR Officer and HR Director.


In addition, you'll support the HR Business Partner with all cyclical HR activity including succession planning, talent management and HR Projects to support the continuous development of our People offering.


You will collate, update and present HR data and metrics to the HRBP, predominantly on all Group ER activity, data which then informs and directs future strategic and tactical progression of HR service delivery and wider people initiatives.


This role will see you deliver:
Employee Relations/Advisory

  • Maintain an uptodate knowledge of employment law, policy, and practice.
  • Manage and ensure that all ER cases are monitored and escalated through the appropriate channels as required and within the required timescales.
  • Collate and analyse information, as required, so that metrics and/or reports can be produced to contribute to decision making, the development of managerial insight and monitoring of performance on ER cases or matters.
  • Collate information including investigation reports, disciplinary notes, and any other correspondence to create appropriate case files.
  • Review appropriate correspondence in partnership with the line manager and HR team.
  • Liaise with external legal advisors on complex cases.
  • Meet with Managers and HR colleagues to provide advice, support and guidance on matters related to employment policy, practice, and law, as required.
  • To provide HR colleagues and managers with technical and practical advice on complex employee relation issues so that actual and potential risks can be identified, and case management strategies agreed.
  • To deliver Employee Relations training, coaching, and other knowledge/skills development initiatives across the business to raise awareness / standards of practice across all people managers
Knowledge and Opportunity

  • Continuously collecting and maintain HR MI to provide data consistently to add insight to both the HR Business Partner and the business, to ensure metrics are being met and shortfalls address (e.g. turnover, headcount, discipline, grievance, performancemanagement, etc)
Account Management/Collaboration Inc Relationships

  • Work in collaboration, and as 'One Team' with HR functions in order to ensure that the initiatives/projects in place are effective and efficient
Strategic People Planning

  • Support the HR Business Partner in the delivery of the Strategic People Plan, owning specific activities where appropriate in your aligned business area
  • Understand and interpret the business strategy, Strategic People Plan and wider HR agenda in order to provide solutions with the HR Business Partner to support Managers in managing their people

Our HR Advisor will bring the following skills, behaviours, and experiences to our team:

  • HR Experience and CIPD qualification to Level 5 (ideal)
  • Extensive knowledge of human resources and employment law
  • Leadership and business management skills
  • Strong knowledge of the company's hiring process
  • Sound judgment and problemsolving skills
  • The ability to use their initiative
  • Patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations
  • The ability to motivate and manage staff
  • Professionalism and an overall positive attitude
  • Ability and experience to deal with complex HR issues
  • Ability to make sound, balanced HR decisions whilst implementing in a business focused manner
  • Able to prioritise own workload and respond flexibly to changing demands
  • Able to establish credibility and rapport with line managers and managers
