My client a world-renowned charity is seeking a Financial Analyst to be part of a team of six which reports into the Head of Programmes Finance, working together to support upwards of 150 projects and £50m of expenditure.

This is part of the Financial Planningand Analysis team which provides timely financial planning and reporting across the whole organisation.


This role enables the organisation to deliver on its charitable aims by supporting the financial management of projects, programmes and donor restricted funds across our Science & Conservation and Advocacy & Campaigns departments and our Strategic Goal Groups.

It provides support and analysis to Programmes staff to enable them deliver successful, impactful programmes.

The role will require 1 day per to be worked in the office which is based in Woking


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Support bid development including budget setting and cost recovery
  • Preparation of financial reports to donors supporting programme coordinators in formulating budgets and updates
  • Manage any financial audit process required by donors
  • Challenge and support budget holders, goal groups and donor fund managers to deliver realistic budgets and forecasts for cost centres and projects. Document the reasoning and underlying assumptions behind budgets and forecasts and provide explanations forvariances for the Business Partner to report back to management
  • Track spending across all programme workstreams and cost centres
  • Maintain fund reporting schedules, collect feedback from users and process any corrections
  • Track and report forex movements across the portfolio
  • Maintain a programme finance communications list and provide regular financial information across the portfolio
  • Ensure relevant budget codes integrate across our finance, travel and expenses systems and central network database
EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS & KNOWLEDGE

  • Qualified or part qualified CCAB or CIMA
  • Significant experience of providing financial reports and information to nonfinance staff and supporting them in the management of budgets
  • Delivering against monthly recurring deadlines
  • Reporting and presenting information to external stakeholders
